Terms of Service

Effective June 19, 2026

The short version: Vouchr gives candidates a portable, self-owned way to prove who they are, and gives employers a way to request that proof. Candidates use Vouchr for free; employers pay. Vouchr is a technology provider, not a background-check company — we don't make hiring decisions, and verification is a positive signal, never an automatic filter.

1.Scope of service

Vouchr ("we," "us," "TryVouchr") provides a portable trust credential for hiring, delivered through two products: a free candidate app and the paid Vouchr Recruiter Console. Vouchr acts as a technology provider that helps individuals prove verified facts about themselves and helps employers request and review those proofs. Vouchr does not make hiring decisions and is not a party to any employment relationship.

Vouchr is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide background checks, consumer reports, or investigative reports. If a candidate cannot initiate it themselves through their own accounts and devices, Vouchr does not do it.

2.Candidate terms

By building a Vouchr credential, you agree that:

3.Employer & recruiter terms

If you use the Recruiter Console, you agree that:

4.The credential & the Trust Ladder

A Vouchr credential is composed of discrete, attributable signals organized into a Trust Ladder (Real Human, Verified Professional, Deeply Verified). The credential always shows its work — which signals are present and what each one proves. Vouchr does not overstate what a signal means and does not guarantee any candidate's suitability, conduct, or hiring outcome. Verification confirms specific facts at a point in time; it is not a warranty of a person.

5.Fees

The candidate app is provided free of charge. Employers pay for the Recruiter Console through subscription plans, with certain usage (such as verification volume above plan allowance and high-stakes Tier-3 verification) metered as described in the console and at sign-up. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.

6.Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including by: attempting to verify or de-anonymize people without their initiation; reverse-engineering or scraping the service; submitting false information; using the service to harass or discriminate; or using verification results for any purpose other than the hiring context for which they were shared.

7.Third-party services

Verification is delivered with the help of third-party providers (for example, Apple, Twilio, GitHub, and — for Tier-3 only — Argyle or Plaid). Your use of those integrations is also subject to their terms. Vouchr is not responsible for third-party services it does not control.

8.Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Vouchr does not warrant that any credential is error-free or that any candidate or employer will achieve a particular result. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vouchr's total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and Vouchr is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9.Changes & termination

We may update these terms as the product evolves; we'll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. You may stop using the service at any time, and we may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
